2026 to be a year of ‘transition’ for the City of Maryville

If it feels like there’s a lot going on (and up) in the City of Maryville, the reason might have less to do with a higher population, and more to do with the city finally finding its footing.

“If I had to put a them on the retreat this year, it’s really transition. We’re in a transition in so many ways,” said Maryville City Manager Greg McClain Thursday morning at the Tremont Lodge and Resort in Townsend.

McClain, the Maryville City Council and a number of city staff leadership personnel met at the resort for the start of the city’s annual budget retreat, which went for six hours before officials adjourned. Many, although not all, of those in attendance stayed the night, and discussions continued for an additional three hours the following morning…
