NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — A quick turnaround didn’t faze the Albion College women’s wrestling team, as the Britons put fourth a strong showing at the Spartan Mat Classic, as all four wrestlers that competed earned top-five finishes in their respective brackets.
Senior Gabby Motz headlined the day for Albion with a first-place finish at 110. The No. 18 nationally-ranked Motz cruised through the bracket with a 5-0 record, with four of her five wins coming via tech fall. In the first-place match, the Laingsburg, Michigan native earned a 13-2 tech fall win over Manchester University’s Abigail Alvarado.
Albion’s next highest finished was Brooklyn Sage, who finished fourth at 160. The freshman went 3-2 with one tech fall victory and one fall in 5:11. Paris Ford checked in just behind Sage at 160, as she placed fifth in the competitive bracket, overcoming two early losses to end the day with three consecutive wins…
