Oberon was originally created by Larry Bell in 1992 because he is a serious baseball fan, and he wanted a citrusy smooth wheat ale that he could enjoy while watching baseball.
What transpired was a beer he originally named Solsun, but eventually changed to Oberon. Now, every year, people from all over West Michigan come to Bell’s Eccentric Café to celebrate the return of spring, even though last year it was a blizzard…
