Mid-South winter storm potential next weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Well, we have something to keep an eye on for next weekend.

For several days now, the vast majority of model guidance has been showing signals of a large system working through the middle of the country, with a freezing line somewhere in the vicinity of the Mid-South.

Sunday’s model runs have been the most aggressive though, in how far south the freezing line ends up. This can and likely will change. Bottom line… IT’S EARLY.

So, what does all this tell us? Right now, not much, other than this is something to pay attention to. Given that this is still several days away, a cold rain, mixed bag— freezing rain and snow—are all possible scenarios for us. In other words, don’t rush out to buy that bread and milk just yet!…
