Deputies: 3 arrested in TN after Facebook Marketplace sale goes wrong in NC

MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said three people were arrested following a Facebook Marketplace sale gone wrong.

Officials said on Jan. 11, a man drove to the sheriff’s office reporting that he had been robbed after listing a gun for sale on the app the day prior.

Deputies mentioned that the prospective buyer lived in Tennessee and the victim was from Asheville. The transaction took place in Hot Springs in a parking lot.

According to the victim, a male passenger who was with the buyer pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. The group then sped away with the victim’s gun that was listed for sale…
