Myrtle Beach community gathers for ecumenical service in midst of MLK Day celebrations

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Faith, unity, and community: These three words served as the basis for Sunday’s ecumenical service hosted by the Carolina African American Heritage Foundation.

The event in the midst of the 21st Grand Strand Freedom Week was dedicated to remembering the life and teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. The service originally was centered in the local African American community.
