A Leesburg man was arrested on drug charges when deputies found methamphetamine in a Crown Royal bag beside him during a traffic stop.
Deputies pulled over a silver four-door SUV for not stopping at the intersection of Sanford and Griffin Roads in Leesburg around 12 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The female driver denied consent for the vehicle to be searched, but a K-9’s alert to the smell of narcotics forced her and the passengers, including 42-year-old Alexander Xavier Keith, to get out.
Law enforcement subsequently found a white container in the glove box, inside of which was a plastic bag of methamphetamine and a digital scale with powdery residue. In the passenger door, they discovered a purple Crown Royal bag with a glass smoking device and a rock-like sustance, the report said…
