Woman killed in early-morning solo crash on Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A woman was killed early Sunday morning after her SUV struck a utility pole in Citrus Heights, according to police.

Citrus Heights officers were alerted to the crash just before 2 a.m. on January 18 after receiving an automated alert from the vehicle. Police responded to the area of Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive, where they found a single SUV that had collided with a utility pole.

The adult female driver was found unresponsive. Officers began emergency lifesaving measures until Sacramento Metro Fire personnel arrived and transported her to a local hospital. Despite those efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital…
