Latest Delaware snow forecast shows bulk of storm missing state

A winter storm with the potential to drop a few inches on northern Delaware has not materialized as forecasted as of Sunday morning, Jan. 18.

The National Weather Service forecast called for a chance of 2 to 3 inches of snow in Wilmington and northern New Castle County from early Sunday morning through the afternoon. The snow forecasts have fluctuated throughout the week.

A report from the NWS from 9:10 a.m. on Jan. 18 only measured a trace of snowfall. The rest of the state’s observations from the last 24 hours were less than an inch. A report from 10:00 a.m. from Bethel Township, PA, which is just north of Brandywine Hundred, to the NWS came in at one inch…
