MLK Jr. Day at The Durham: Free Admission Day

Durham Museum | Monday, Jan. 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Durham Museum is offering free admission today from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. The museum will honor Dr. King’s legacy with a day of special programming, including:

  • Special appearance by John Ewing with introductory remarks at 10:45 a.m.
  • Children’s book readings by Preston Love Jr. and Dr. Amy Forss
  • Live music and performances (Mandela Elementary Orchestra at 11 a.m.)
  • Screenings of Dr. King’s speeches and the PBS docuseries Eyes on the Prize throughout the day

Mac & Cheese Binge Celebrates 10 Cheesy Years

Midtown Crossing – Saturday, Jan. 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Omaha’s Mac & Cheese Binge is turning 10! This one-day neighborhood taste tour of cheesy creations at Midtown Crossing offers a one-day-only menu at participating restaurants. This Saturday, each eatery will serve up $4 mac-and-cheese samplers with creative drink pairings. Try as many as you can and vote for your favorite mac. Admission is free (pay per sample)—so come hungry!

Welcome to Primo’s, Rooted in a History of Mexican Dishes

Primo’s Modern Mexican Restaurant was started by three “primos” (cousins) who wanted to reawaken their family’s recipes and bring back the taste of their family’s delicious Mexican dishes. It all started with their Great Grandparents Luis and Carmen Rocha who were immigrants from Mexico. Their family gatherings were filled with home cooked Mexican food. These recipes have been passed down through generations and live on through Primo’s, located in south central Omaha and Council Bluffs…
