Upcoming Overnight Closures on Marksheffel Road for Drainage Work in Colorado Springs

Residents and commuters in Colorado Springs are being advised to prepare for the overnight closure of Marksheffel Road this week. According to the City of Colorado Springs, the road will be shut down from south of Tarren Heights to north of Stetson Hills Boulevard starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, and Thursday, Jan. 22, for crucial drainage work. The closures are intended to facilitate safe working conditions for the crew as they install essential infrastructure.

The closures will last until 5:30 a.m. the following mornings, and the public should be aware that some level of construction noise is anticipated during these operations. To minimize daytime disruption, temporary steel plates will be placed over the pipe crossings on Thursday and Friday. Drivers are expected to experience further impact on Friday, Jan. 23, when flaggers will facilitate the flow of traffic, alternating through a single lane on Marksheffel Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., following the installation of asphalt over the pipes.
