New Dad Hospitalized with Brain Bleed After Hit-and-Run Collision

Las Vegas police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a new father hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed.

The Las Vegas MetropolitanPolice Department (LVMPD) said the collision happened Monday, Jan. 12, around 5:15 p.m. local time, at the intersection of Marion Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. Investigators say a white SUV — “possibly a 2020-2022 White Kia Sportage or similar vehicle” — struck a man riding a motorcycle.

Family members identified the motorcyclist as Matias Lagarreta. Police said he was ejected from the bike and left in the roadway as the SUV driver fled the scene. Investigators believe the vehicle may have damage on its right side…
