Arizona-based Meritage Homes has proposed a townhome development in Wellington – not far from Lion Country Safari.
The venture would comprise 206 townhomes, with lots measuring 1,800 to 2,100 square feet each. Each unit would feature a driveway and a 2-car garage. Communal amenities would include a resort-style swimming pool with cabanas, children’s playground, and several outdoor recreational areas. Another feature would be a 6.6-acre lake.
The South Florida Business Journal reports that the townhome development is part of a larger 258-acre site that was annexed into Wellington in 2024. It would also occupy six parcels and, if approved, would replace some single-family homes and plant nurseries.
