CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — A seven-car pileup at a busy north Georgia intersection sent four people to the hospital last Wednesday after an 83-year-old woman mistook the gas pedal for the brake and rammed into several cars stopped at a red light at a high rate of speed, authorities said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Battlefield Parkway and Dietz Road, according to Catoosa County officials. Investigators said the elderly driver accelerated into stopped traffic while approaching a red light.
