Northern Lights could be visible in South Carolina Monday night

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — A severe solar radiation storm in progress could make the northern lights visible over much of the U.S. tonight.

A solar radiation storm occurs when a surge of charged particles accelerate to Earth after a coronal mass ejection from the sun.
