Sanger moves forward with Serenade II development

SANGER – The year’s first council meeting was a light one, but the wheels are now turning on a proposed housing development.

On Jan. 15, the Sanger City Council voted to move forward with the Serenade II subdivision, which will bring 48 single family units along North Avenue, located between Bethel and Greenwood avenues. Community Development Director Joshua Goggins gave the item’s presentation, and outlined the reasons for staff’s recommendation to advance the project.

The main point of note during the presentation was the fact that the majority of the project’s 10-acre parcel would be redesignated from medium-density residential to low-density residential use. Goggins assured the council that although the density will be reduced, it will not affect the city’s regional housing allocation obligations, and will remain consistent with the city’s general plan…
