Battle Creek woman stabs intruder with glass shard to escape attack, police say

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 23-year-old woman fought off an intruder Saturday morning after he allegedly broke into her friend’s home and assaulted her, according to Battle Creek Police.

Police responded to the 100 block of N. 29th Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 following reports of a home invasion, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

Officers learned that a 25-year-old Battle Creek man, identified as the ex-boyfriend of the 22-year-old resident, broke a back window and forced his way into the home while the resident and her friend were inside, police said…
