Firefighters spray down overnight blaze in Syracuse’s Skunk City

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– Firefighters were called to a house fire in Syracuse’s Skunk City neighborhood on Sunday morning.

Crews arrived to 1606 Bellevue Ave. on Jan. 18 to find smoke coming from the front door of a home, with people on the front porch reporting that something was on fire. Firefighters stretched hose lines while additional teams started searching the home for anyone trapped inside.

A spokesperson for the American Red Cross said that their local chapter is helping six people affected by the fire: three adults and three teenagers (ages 14, 15, and 16). A fire report said that no one was inside the building when the firefighters arrived…
