Heavy lake effect snow and strong winds return to parts of CNY this week

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories across the Tug Hill region as heavy snow, strong winds, and frigid temperatures are headed to central New York.

Syracuse is looking at scattered snow showers today with temperatures reaching into the high 20s before a strong cold front tonight brings us a blast of arctic air. Notice the single-digit low temperatures, combine that with 40mph wind gusts and we’ll likely reach below zero wind chills early Tuesday morning.
