Fort Worth crews fight major house fire Sunday morning in Southside

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth firefighters responded to a major fire at a home early Sunday morning in the Southside area, officials said.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, crews were called to the fire at about 5:24 a.m. in the 1800 block of St. Louis Avenue. The first unit was on scene three minutes later, and found a heavy fire moving through the back of the one-story home toward the front. It was also threatening a neighbor’s home.

Firefighters attacked the fire offensively while searching for anyone inside, officials said. After about 20 minutes, firefighters evacuated and turned defensive, fighting the flames from outside as the roof appeared unstable.
