(Ankeny, IA) — Expansions are planned for this spring at the Ankeny Regional Airport, including replacing its main runway.
The current, mile-long runway will be expanded to 6,000 feet. Ankeny Regional Airport manager Paul Moritz says this will allow the airport to accommodate larger jets:
“There’s been times in the past where we’ve been contacted by certain aircraft owners, corporations wanting to land, and it’s very difficult to land at 55 hundred feet for some of these larger jets.”…
