PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho — A driver was arrested after he led authorities on a high-speed chase that spanned at least four counties and 71 miles, according to Idaho State Police.
ISP said the pursuit started just before noon on Monday on westbound Interstate 84 at mile marker 80, in Elmore County, when a trooper attempted to stop a Toyota Highlander for a traffic violation. The driver of the Highlander refused to stop, traveling over 100 mph and avoiding “several sets of spike strips,” ISP said in a news release.
The pursuit continued into the Treasure Valley before it came to a stop in Payette County, near mile marker 9, when the driver finally hit a spike strip, swerving and crashing into the median, police said…
