HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) β A winter storm is expected to come through the Quad State region this Friday and Saturday, with an uncertain amount of snow accumulation expected to impact Hopkinsville. Due to these weather predictions, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 plans to begin the process of pretreating state highways.
βIt is too early for exact details, but slippery travel and winter weather impacts are becoming more likely,β said a statement from the National Weather Service in Paducah.
KYTC District 2 snow and ice crews will begin applying a salt brine mixture to roadways around lunchtime on Jan. 20, starting with C-Routes and progressing up the priority list to primary A-Routes by the end of the week.
