Potential for ‘significant winter storm’ this weekend in Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — The Piedmont Triad could be facing a winter storm this weekend. Here’s the outlook for the days ahead.

We will have sunny skies today with highs near 40 degrees, and skies remain clear overnight. Lows will dip to near 20 degrees in the Triad with mid-to-upper teens in outlying areas.

High pressure is forecast to sweep across the southeastern U.S., and, as it slips eastward, temperatures are going to warm up. Highs are expected to return to the mid-40s on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies. The warmest day of the week is Thursday, when we will have partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-50s.
