Next snow system for Michigan blankets all of southern Michigan, it’s a two-part snow

The active storm track continues Wednesday into Thursday. It’s another Alberta Clipper snow system, but will blanket more of southern Michigan compared to the recent northern Michigan snows.

Again- this is also not a blockbuster big snowstorm by Michigan standards. It’s a solid one to three inch snow, with some isolated four inch amounts. After the initial snowfall stops midday Wednesday, lower Michigan will continue with bursts of meaningful snow showers into Thursday.

Here’s the radar forecast from 1 a.m. tonight to Thursday. It’s pretty easy to see this will be a steady snow everywhere in the southern two-thirds of lower Michigan.

The steady, light snow starts overnight and will continue to late morning west and early afternoon east. Then batches of snow showers shift through Lower Michigan Wednesday night and Thursday. Eventually the snow turns into the classic, pure lake-effect snow for the snowbelts…
