Man dies in single-vehicle crash after leaving I-24 onto Haywood Lane

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department said a man involved in a single-vehicle crash on Friday night has died from his injuries.

The crash happened Jan. 16 around 10 p.m. on Haywood Lane at the Interstate 24 East exit ramp.

Police said the driver, 43-year-old Darling Perez-Rios drove onto Haywood Lane from I-24 East when he reportedly lost control of his 2000 Ford Explorer and hit the center dividing wall under the interstate, which caused his SUV to swerve back toward the right shoulder and flip onto the driver’s side…
