BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect in connection with a July 2025 shooting in Baton Rouge.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers were called to the 1300 block of Florida Street for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
At the scene, detectives learned that the shooting victim was supposed to meet two to three people at MJ’s Food Mart and sell two guns, BRPD said. During the transaction, one of the suspects, later identified as 23-year-old Dillan Moore, grabbed both guns from the victim, and the second suspect, Chaka Collins, shot three times into the victim’s car, according to BRPD.
