Braden Frager Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) – After a pair of 20-point efforts, Nebraska’s Braden Frager was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday. The 6-foot-7 forward from Lincoln Southwest averaged 21.5 points per game on 59 percent shooting, including 50 percent from 3-point range, and 3.5 rebounds per game in Nebraska’s two wins.

It is the third time that Frager has won the weekly award, which is the most by a Husker since Bryce McGowens was an eight-time weekly honoree in 2021-22. Frager has been one of the sparks to Nebraska’s 18-0 record and program-best No. 7 AP ranking this week, averaging 12.7 points per game on 53 percent shooting.

Frager set a career high with 23 points and tied a school freshman mark with seven 3-pointers in Nebraska’s 90-55 win. His seven 3-pointers were one shy of the school mark, as he added three rebounds and a steal in helping the Huskers to their largest victory margin in a conference game since 1994…
