Illinois Forecast: 5″+ Snow Possible, Bitter Cold Below 0°F Ahead

A powerful Arctic cold front will drive temperatures in Illinois and Wisconsin well below zero this week, along with another snow event that could drop several inches over the area.

Rockford Set for Record Cold This Week

According to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service, even the high temperature will be below zero this week.

Highs will be in the upper teens on Tuesday (1/20) across the Rockford region and Chicagoland, but wind chills will be as low as -12.. Temps will rise on Tuesday night into the mid 20s, and that’s the warmest it will be until next week.
