A southwest suburban lawmaker has introduced a measure crafted to protect used car buyers.

The Senate Bill introduced by Joliet State Senator Rachel Ventura improves protection for used-car buyers by requiring dealers to provide a same-day vehicle history report at the time of purchase in Illinois.

The measure would require a written acknowledgement by the customer that they received the report in a language they understand to ensure transparency.
