University of Michigan student allegedly disciplined for ‘fake’ medical note. She says it’s real.

ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan disciplined a student over a “fake” telehealth medical note, according to a Jan. 16 federal complaint.

The student affected is now suing the university, saying the university’s allegations of alleged misconduct are causing damage to her future.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe in the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court Michigan Eastern District, alleges that she was deprived of “protected interests in continued enrollment and good standing” following a disciplinary decision, which added a “false and stigmatizing dishonesty-related entry” to her academic record…
