Alabama Sheriffs Gather in Birmingham to Address Emerging Threats

Law enforcement leaders from across Alabama gathered in Birmingham this week for the Alabama Sheriffs’ Association Winter Conference, an annual event aimed at strengthening public safety strategies and reinforcing collaboration among sheriffs statewide.

The conference brought together sheriffs and public safety officials to address evolving threats facing local law enforcement while emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong relationships with the communities they serve. Discussions centered on innovation, leadership, and coordination at both the state and national levels.

The event was hosted by Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway, who is set to be formally inducted as Treasurer of the Alabama Sheriffs’ Association.
