The Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ Fish of the Year program is recognizing anglers who caught the longest fish of each tracked species in 2025, according to a community announcement.
Steven Kellett, a dentist from Linton in Greene County, set a new record with 17 winning catches, surpassing the previous record of 15 set by Liu He of West Lafayette in 2022. Kellett’s 9-year-old son, Landon, also made the list with five winning fish.
Father-son fishing duo makes memories
Kellett said that fishing with his son brings back memories of his own childhood and helps him shape his son’s future.
“Spending father/son time away from the everyday stresses of life means everything to me,” Kellett said in the announcement. “I have awesome memories fishing with my dad and grandfather, and I want Landon to have some of the same experiences that I did.”…
