KYTC District 2 crews to begin pretreating western Kentucky roads ahead of winter weather

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 will begin pretreating state highways with a salt brine mixture today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, in anticipation of winter weather predicted for the region this weekend.

District 2 snow and ice crews are scheduled to start the application process around lunchtime. Crews will prioritize rural “C-Routes” first before progressing to primary “A-Routes” by the end of the week.
