CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Voices of faith, unity, and hope filled Conway Monday as people gathered to honor the life of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. during the 46th annual “Be the Dream” MLK Day celebration.
The event, organized by the Conway-Horry County Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee, began with a community march before transitioning into Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church for a service featuring music, prayer, and guest speakers, a tradition Organizers say had continued for more than four decades.
“For about 46 years now, we’ve been trying to keep it going and growing.” Conway City Councilmember, Larry White said “we so often think of Dr. King as something in the past, but that dream is for us, and the future generations.”…
