DUI suspect tells cops he had been drinking at City Fire in The Villages

A drunk driving suspect told law enforcement officers that he had been drinking at City Fire prior to his arrest in The Villages.

Frederick Joseph Mills Jr., 67, of Ocklawaha, was driving a green 2024 Ford Explorer shortly before midnight on Saturday when he failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Old Mill Run and Lake Sumter Landing, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, a deputy began to suspect the New Jersey native had been drinking. Mills admitted he’d consumed about two to three vodka screwdrivers at City Fire.

He refused to submit to a breath test. He was found to be in possession of a glass pipe commonly used for smoking narcotics…
