Since being acquired by public mortgage real estate investment trust Benefit Street in July, NewPoint Real Estate Capital has ventured into financing senior living and care transactions — namely, those involving independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing.
“We believe we’re very bullish on the future of senior housing … as well as multifamily,” Erik Lindenauer, president of healthcare and FHA lending for the Plano, TX-based company, told the McKnight’s Business Daily.
Benefit Street is “tasked with putting down cheap money,” he said. “NewPoint has always wanted to get into the healthcare space. So, [following the acquisition, it] immediately unrolled a bridge product, which is very competitive.”…
