JOHNSTON COUNTY — A South Carolina man has been charged with attempted sexual assault following a Thanksgiving gathering in Johnston County.
Martin Martinez, 33, of Graniteville, S.C., was arrested Jan. 14 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office after detectives alleged he tried to assault a 33-year-old woman he knew during the Nov. 16, 2025 event.
According to the arrest warrant, Martinez “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did attempt to engage in a sexual act with [the victim] who was at the time mentally disabled, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless, and defendant knew or should have known the victim to be mentally disabled, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless.”…
