Man slashed in face during dispute aboard Bronx subway train, suspects at large

BRONX, NY – Police are searching for two suspects after a 24-year-old man was slashed in the face during a violent confrontation aboard a northbound 5 train Thursday evening near the Nereid Avenue and White Plains Road Subway Station.

According to the NYPD, the assault occurred around 6:20 p.m. when the victim became involved in a verbal dispute with one of the unidentified men inside the train. The argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which a second suspect pulled out a sharp object and cut the victim across the face.

After the attack, both individuals fled the station on foot toward an unknown direction. The victim was treated for his injuries, and police say he is expected to recover. Investigators have not yet released descriptions of the suspects but are reviewing subway surveillance footage from the station and nearby areas.

The incident occurred within the confines of the 47th Precinct and Transit District 12.
