Trial begins for southern Indiana man charged with killing wife on Valentine’s Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A jury has been seated in the murder trial of a Charlestown, Indiana, man accused of killing his wife in their home with their children inside. Investigators said he then texted photos of the crime scene to the woman’s family.

Jury selection for Taylor Meyer’s trial got underway Jan. 20, after at least two delays. Court records indicate Clark Circuit Judge Nicholas A. Karaffa scheduled opening statements for Wednesday morning.

Meyer is charged with one count of murder after he allegedly killed his wife on Valentine’s Day in 2025. Police arrested Meyer in the late evening hours of Feb. 14 at a home the couple shared in the 6600 block of Westwood Drive. Court documents said officers went to the home after getting a call from a friend of the victim who said she was in danger…
