The man critically injured in Friday’s 10 p.m. single-vehicle crash on Haywood Lane at the I-24 East exit ramp has died from his injuries.
The driver of a 2000 Ford Explorer, Darling Perez-Rios, 43, appears to have entered Haywood Lane from the I-24 East exit ramp when he lost control of the SUV and struck the center dividing wall under I-24 which caused the vehicle to swerve back toward the right shoulder and flip onto the driver side. Perez-Rios was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died…
