SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — California Highway Patrol officers discovered a deceased person inside a vehicle early Wednesday morning along southbound State Route 163 near Kearny Villa Road.
According to CHP, a service patrol officer was making routine rounds in the area shortly before 6 a.m. when they noticed a vehicle stopped on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway. The officer pulled over to make contact and found a person unconscious inside the vehicle.

CHP said the officer attempted to offer assistance but determined the individual was deceased.
