Ghost Gun Found as Wanted Teen Arrested in Late-Night Wilmington Stop

WILMINGTON, DE — A late-night police encounter in Wilmington led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man already wanted on an outstanding warrant and the recovery of a loaded handgun, authorities said.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers with the Uniformed Services Division were patrolling the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue at approximately 11:09 p.m. on January 13 when they observed a male acting suspiciously. Officers made contact with the individual, later identified as Isaiah Moore, and took him into custody without incident.

During the encounter, police allege officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun. Investigators determined the firearm was an unfinished weapon without a serial number, commonly referred to as a “ghost gun.”…
