Police: Man nearly struck boyfriend with car in Elkton

ELKTON — A man remained jailed Tuesday after he allegedly ran off an Elkton road while driving drunk — narrowly missing his boyfriend on the sidewalk — and then resisted arrest, prompting the officer to twice use trip techniques to bring the suspect to the ground, according to Cecil County District Court records.

Court records allege that the near-miss occurred after the suspect, Rashawn Javon Maddrey-Reed, 30, of Elkton and his boyfriend had been involved in a domestic dispute.
