Syracuse Board of Education takes unusual step and votes to remove one of its members for misconduct

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Board of Education for the Syracuse City School District has taken the unusual step of removing one of its own members, Commissioner Twiggy Billue.

Cherylene “Twiggy” Billue was accused of two counts of misconduct: disregarding the district’s visitor policy for school buildings and a breach of ethics.

“She engaged in that advocacy in the cloak of her authority,” said a district representative. “Her actions were in violation of her oath of office.”…
