OAK HARBOR – Military veterans and their spouse have a new incentive to become school bus drivers for B-C-S Schools. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has launched the Ohio Military Veteran Educators Program Recruiting Initiative, which empowers schools to offer a $3,000 New Hire Bonus to military veterans for various positions, including bus drivers.
According to the ODE website, eligible individuals must be a new, first-time employee of the school and must be an active duty member of the Armed Forces, an honorably discharged veteran, a member of the National Guard, or a spouse of a member or veteran of the Armed Forces.
