Figurines, a doll, a crucifix: Alleged stalker left trinkets, notes on victim’s doorstep, docs show

A northwest Harris County woman reported to police that she was being stalked by someone who left trinkets at her door, declared his love for her, and made her feel “harassed, annoyed, offended, and alarmed,” according to court documents.

Records show that Jorge Escalante Rivera, 29, was charged with felony stalking after a series of unusual incidents at a woman’s home in northwest Houston.

Three visits and a variety of gifts

The victim told investigators that it began on the morning of June 23, 2025, when the man left four trinkets with handwritten notes at her doorstep. Security cameras recorded Rivera leaving figurines, such as a snowman, a birdbath with a cardinal, a candle, and two angels. The video allegedly shows him walking away and making the sign of the cross toward her home.

The complaint says the second incident happened several months later, on the morning of Sept. 30. This time, Rivera left four items: a doll of the character Jessie from “Toy Story,” another cardinal bird figurine, an El Salvadoran flag, and a crucifix…
