Woman charged in Milwaukee apartment building fire convicted of arson twice prior

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Charges have been filed in connection to the arson fire at a Milwaukee apartment complex near 22nd and Hampton that sent multiple people to the hospital.

Forty-eight-year-old Laquita Spears faces three felonies, including arson of a building and two counts first degree recklessly endangering safety.

According to the criminal complaint, Spears used a cigarette lighter to start a fire in her father’s apartment during an argument Jan. 13. Officers were told she left the unit, yelling, “burn, (expletive), burn.”…
