The National Weather Service in Shreveport is pretty confident that the entire Arklatex is in for a real dose of winter weather this coming weekend.

To that point, the NWS has just announced a Winter Storm Watch that will begin at 6:00 am this Friday, January 23, and will extend through 12:00 pm on Sunday, January 25.
The area for this watch includes portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, north central and northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, and east and northeast Texas.
Forecasters have revealed that our area will possibly see heavy mixed precipitation. In the watch, NWS indicates that total snow and sleet accumulations up to 8 inches and ice accumulations between three tenths and one half of an inch possible.
