Elyria Police shoot, kill suspect in AT&T robbery after chase takes officers to North Olmsted

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) – Elyria Police officers shot and killed a 31-year-old man who allegedly led police on a chase after a robbery outside an AT&T store involving a Brink’s truck on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release, at around 3:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to an AT&T store, located at 1547 West River Road North, for an aggravated armed robbery involving a Brinks truck. Police said the suspect forced the driver into the armored truck stole a undisclosed amount of cash and took off in a vehicle.

Police identified a suspect vehicle, it was spotted later in Lorain.

That’s when Elyria Police and other agencies initiated a chase, which went into Elyria. The suspect eventually got onto Route 20 eastbound (Center Ridge Road) and continued into North Olmsted, according to the post…
